-English in ADE Plasencia is a course whose main goal is to provide useful language for different business situations.
-Our main focus is on the use of English language for the special purpose of business, paying attention to reading, writing, listening an speaking.
-Our course is divided into 12 units.

ASSESSMENT
We will follow the instructions given in our teaching file:

La
ponderación será la siguiente:
-Exposiciones
y proyectos de clase: 10%
-Examen
final: 90%.
Las
pruebas intermedias (de carácter formativo) y el examen final constarán de
las siguientes partes, evaluadas como se especifica:
-LISTENING COMPREHENSION: 10%
-SPEAKING: 10 %
-USE OF ENGLISH AND VOCABULARY:
40 %
-READING: 10 %
-WRITING: 20 %
Evaluación
final de carácter global
Según
el Art. 4.6 de la Normativa de evaluación de los resultados de aprendizaje y
de las competencias adquiridas por el alumnado en las titulaciones oficiales
de la universidad de Extremadura, “El plan docente de cada asignatura
preverá para todas las convocatorias una prueba final alternativa
de carácter global, de manera que la superación de ésta suponga la superación
de la asignatura. La elección entre el sistema de evaluación continua o el sistema
de evaluación con una única prueba final de carácter global corresponde al
estudiante durante las tres primeras semanas de cada semestre. La
Comisión de Calidad de la titulación velará porque el derecho a
la evaluación global no comporte discriminación respecto a la
evaluación continua en relación con la calificación máxima que se puede obtener.
En los sistemas de evaluación global, también se podrá exigir la asistencia
del estudiante a aquellas actividades de evaluación que, estando
distribuidas a lo largo del curso, estén relacionadas con la
evaluación de resultados de aprendizaje de difícil calificación en
una prueba final".
El
alumnado que opte por esta prueba de carácter global, deberá realizar:
-Un
examen escrito con las siguientes partes:

USE OF ENGLISH AND VOCABULARY:

20 %
Durante las tres primeras semanas de clase se acordará
con los alumnos que se acojan a esta modalidad la fecha y hora de la prueba
oral.
Por
lo demás, se aplicará el sistema de calificaciones vigente en la actualidad y
es el del RD 1125/2003, artículo 5º.
Los
resultados obtenidos por el alumno en esta asignatura se calificarán en
función de la siguiente escala numérica de 0 a 10, con expresión de un
decimal, a la que podrá añadirse su correspondiente calificación cualitativa:
0
- 4,9: Suspenso (SS)
5,0
- 6,9: Aprobado (AP)
7,0
- 8,9: Notable (NT)
9,0
- 10: Sobresaliente (SB)
La
mención de Matrícula de Honor podrá ser otorgada a alumnos que hayan obtenido
una calificación igual o superior a 9.0. Su número no podrá exceder del 5 %
de los alumnos matriculados en una asignatura en el correspondiente curso
académico, salvo que el número de alumnos matriculados sea inferior a 20, en
cuyo caso se podrá conceder una sola Matrícula de Honor.

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT
-Students will prove their English skills in USE OF ENGLISH, READING, WRITING, LISTENING AND SPEAKING.
-Those following the course and attending lessons will have the opportunity to take 2 WRITTEN TESTS and ORAL INTERVIEWS. They must also present a PROJECT. If they reach 50%, they will pass the subject before January. If they don't reach 50% they will have to take the final exam in January.
Test 1
Parts: USE OF ENGLISH, READING, WRITING, LISTENING.
Date: November, 03rd. Thursday. 16.00-18.00
Test 2
Parts: USE OF ENGLISH, READING, WRITING, LISTENING.
Date: December, 20th. Tuesday. 18.00-20.00
Oral Interviews: during the lessons in diffent dates.
Video project
Percentage of the final mark: 10 %.
Topic: Presentation and description of a local company.
Individual or small groups (no more than 4 students).
Length: Between 4 minutes (individual projects) and 8 minutes (bigger groups).
Deadline: November, 18th. Thursday.
FINAL ASSESSMENT
-Students who decide not to follow continuous assessment must tell the teacher before October, 8th.
-Those students who don't follow continuous assessment, couldn't reach 50% with the continuous assessment or want to improve their marks will have a FINAL TEST in JANUARY.
-The final test will have a WRITTEN PART AND AN ORAL INTERVIEW.
-WRITTEN TEST: USE OF ENGLISH, READING, LISTENING AND WRITING.

-ORAL INTERWIEW. In pairs

Students who passed the oral part through continuous assessment won't have this oral interwiew.
